AFAX DAY 1

P.S, I'm sorry that there's no pictures to back this post up, but the REALLY good part of AFAX starts tomorrow, the Regional Cosplay Competition! Therefore i shall bring my camera for tomorrow.
E.P.S. (-.-)

First thing anyone would notice would be the queue..the ticket queue is so damn long! Took awhile before i finally got my $15 ticket (I didn't even go into the main stage area today -.-) So at about 11+, i finally stepped into my first ever Anime Festival. My debut!~

Alright the place was wayyyy too congested. I can barely move around without knocking into somebody every 10 steps. So my very first event that i stayed on to look was the Anisong preliminaries. It's an Anisong (Anime Song) singing competition! A really small one though..haha! If i'm not wrong, the first contestant sang Shangri La by angela, the second contestant sang My Love is a Stapler from K-ON!, and 3 out of the remaining 4 contestants sang songs from vocaloid i think. (Hatsune Miku is extremely popular in Singapore, and most girls cosplay as her!) I'm really only interested in Shangri La and My Love is a Stapler, so i got bored pretty fast.. :P

So i looked through the windows of the Atelier Royale Butler Cafe, and goodness, it is totally the same as what you see in an anime. (Zenzen) So i went on to look at the Moe Moe Kyun Maid Cafe, and I AM SO GLAD THAT I NEVER WANTED TO STEP FOOT IN THAT PLACE. It's really not because of their looks or anything, i mean, nothing negative. It'll just be awkward to go in. No joke.

The entire festival area is really just like a night market. Figurines, trading cards, more figurines, a little bit of doujins, anime related merchandise and stuff like that. The most eye-catching one was the sale of katanas (or whatever you call it) from Bleach. It is a life size replica if i'm not mistaken. The blades are then split into 2 types, wooden blades and stainless steel blades. The wooden one costs $30, it's so cheap that EVERYWHERE you go, every corner you turn, you'll see people carrying the same katana. It's that popular and cheap. LOL. The stainless steel ones are wayyyyy better, but it costs $100. The blade don't cut though, but i'm sure the tip of the blade can be abit, pokey. I was really tempted to buy that, but after lifting the katana up, it was too light for me, so i skipped it. Luckily.

Cosplayers are everywhere, no no wait, Hatsune Mikus are everywhere. Yeah. I've seen Vocaloids, Luffy and Shanks from One Piece, a few characters from Hitman reborn, Star wars Stormtroopers and Queen Amidala, Final Fantasy 13 characters, Snow White, Pikachus, Mario, Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji, a few others which i totally couldn't recognize, a few others whom i've missed out/forgotten, about 2 Mios and 1 yui from K-ON!, and lastly, ONLY ONE HARUHI SUZUMIYA. WHY ONLY 1 HARUHI SUZUMIYA?! But hey, she's really pretty, and she captures Haruhi's character well in photographs, so, quality over quantity i guess! She gets a 90/100 score from me (Y)

I circled the festival area more than thrice, i bought a bunch of stuff, and that wasn't enough! I got Mio figurine ($50), Mio Keychain ($8), Tsuruya Figurine ($40), The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's Shirt ($29), a Yuki Nagato 3D Poster ($29), a Haruhi Suzumiya 108 pieces Jigsaw puzzle ($7), and a Haruhi Suzumiya paper bag (FREE). That's about all i could get before i ran out of money. Like i said, this wasn't enough! I wanted K-ON! mugs, Mayoi Neko Overrun Shirts, K-ON! handphone straps, Haruhi Suzumiya handphone straps, Haruhi Suzumiya Cushions, and omgzwtfxbbq! I'm gonna bring more money tomorrow. Hopefully i can get most of it..ALL THE BEST TO ME! Oh yeah i'm also gonna upload the pictures of the stuff i bought into facebook. I will take more pictures for tomorrow's festival, and the Regional Cosplay Competition! Look out for it :P
